After years of battling weight issues I have finally settled into myself. Unfortunately we live in a world where we are so self entitled we think we will get drastic results over night with minimum work. I have been fat. skinny.. fat and finally HEALTHY. For the last few months of 2015 I want to start getting back on track with eating my salads daily, and drinking water. Most importantly being consistent with working out not just running but strength and yoga as well. It may take months and sometimes years to get the results we desire. In my humble opinion It is ok to be slow and consistent with growth results.. these are the results that usually last for a lifetime.. keep pushing.

KEEP RUNNING
It has been three years October 15 2012, since I started running nearly everyday. I run through every season in Chicago, the blistering heat and the blustery cold. What matters to me is getting out there daily. It doesn't matter fast or slow. It doesn't matter if I run a lot of miles or a few. I never felt truly alive until I started running. Besides the health benefits of beating obesity and other weight related diseases, I have gained tremendous confidence. I love to run

One month
It has been one month since my nephew Aaron was murdered. Running has truly been a challenge for me. The day I found out I ran 1.5 miles when I crawled out of the bed. I was so devastated I collapsed on the street. Fortunately good people still exist and I received comfort from strangers. I have had no energy. However, today I felt his spirt in me. His slogan was "think hard,think fast today might be your last." So I put my big girl panties on and ran 3 miles in 24 minutes. It felt good to put my all into the run. My mission in running had definitely changed. I will now run each and every mile in his honor.
